Peggy Robinson

Peggy Riley Robinson graduated from the Duke Physician Assistant Program in 1992. She earned a Bachelor of Science in 1973 from Springfield College and a Master of Science in 1975 from Virginia Commonwealth University. Before entering the PA program, she gained experience as a Medical Technician and taught Biology and Microbiology courses at several colleges.

Ms. Robinson’s career as a Clinical PA spans more than 24 years, dominated by her practice as a Primary Care Provider for Duke Family Medicine. In 1997, she joined the PA faculty, and since then, she has been educating the next generation of PA clinicians – teaching and/or coordinated courses in Microbiology, Infectious Disease, Rheumatology, Gastroenterology, Pediatrics and Physical Diagnosis. She currently holds the rank of Associate Professor in the Department of Community and Family Medicine and is the Director of Curriculum for Duke’s PA Program.

Ms. Robinson’s list of academic, scientific and clinical publications is extensive, and she has received a number of awards, recognitions, and honors including:

  • Master Clinician/Teacher Award (Duke University School of Medicine, 2015)
  • Federation of State Medical Boards (2012 to 2015)
  • Master Faculty Award (Physician Assistant Education Association, 2012)
  • Chair of the Diversity Committee for the North Carolina Academy of PAs (2009 to 2012)
  • North Carolina Medical Board (various Committees, 2006 to 2012)
  • Board of Directors for the National Commission on the Certification of PAs (since 2014)
  • Richard J. Scheele Award (1992)
